Hi,

 

My name is Rachel and I’m a Korean American born in Bryn Mawr PA, raised in Fairfax County, Virginia. I moved to Los Angeles in 2020 to further pursue my professional career, and it had always been a goal of mine from a young age to move to California. While I’ll always be an East coast girl at heart, I absolutely love it here and am so excited to continue my journey in creating a beautiful life for myself.

 

After graduating high school, I went on to study at James Madison University (Harrisonburg, VA) and left in December 2012. During college and holiday breaks, I was always employed. I worked in various types of seemingly unrelated roles, but ones that have contributed to my work skillset nonetheless. After college, I officially began my professional career where I started off as a salesperson, working on 100% commission for almost a year, and eventually worked my way up into a senior policy and compliance role at the most influential tech company globally over the course of 10 years.

 

Why is this important? My intention is to share a career backstory that showcases my ability to adapt to various work environments with no prior experience and dedication to succeed in everything I do. In summary, I’ve worked in sales & marketing, human resources, recruiting, telecom, and tech as professional roles, but also have worked multiple jobs in the restaurant industry, graphic design, retail (cosmetics), makeup artistry, and healthcare office management.

 

In April 2024, I left my last role in tech with the goal of fully transitioning out of the 9 to 5 life and into freelancing. I’ve used this sabbatical period to rest and recenter myself so I can move forward with full confidence and clarity into my future work.
